Initially planned to do it all on my own with a tween and a teen. So glad to have gotten Traumland last minute. Mindika has been a wonderful guide. You get insights to Sri Lanka and his safari partners, dolphin watching partners are great. Broke out in hives and he drove us to the next town from Wilapttu to get pharmacy.

This was our first time to Sri Lanka and we were unsure about how to get the best out of a visit. We decided to contact local Sri Lankan tour companies with our basic requirements and see what was possible.

We recieved some very standardised information from most companies however Traumland was different. From the very start they responded with great suggestions and ideas to personalise our six day tour itinerary. It felt through their responses that they were really interested in gaining our business. Mindika fine tuned the visit to reflect a truly private, unique tour with a timetable that allowed us to see everything at our pace. The communication was excellent every step of the way which inspired great confidence that we were in good hands.

On arrival it was obvious that the confidence was well placed. Our tour guide Ramli was one of the nicest professional guides we have met on our travels. His local knowledge was extensive but he didn't overwhelm us he simply helped us appreciate the wonderful places we visited.

The car was very comfortable and his driving (even in the most trying of Sri Lankan traffic) was smooth and relaxing.

The hotels chosen were a mix of 4 and 5 star hotels, all very unique with good facilities and friendly service.

We had an incredible full-day safari in Yala National Park. It honestly couldn’t have been better!

We saw everything you could possibly see. Our guide Dilhan was amazing! He clearly knows exactly what he’s doing, and together with our jeep driver, who had a great instinct for where to go, they made the perfect team. Thanks to them, we were unbelievably lucky and had the most special sightings. Even Dilhan said that this kind of day is rare!

We saw many elephants and an elephant calf, a leopard with its cub, bears up close, crocodiles, a rare tusker elephant, lots of water buffalo, deer, and so many different bird species.

We cannot recommend Traumland Tours enough for anyone planning a trip to Sri Lanka. Our journey began with a recommendation from a friend who had travelled with Traumland Tours. From the very first planning phase with Mr. Mindika, everything was easy, straightforward, and transparent with no hidden costs.

What truly set them apart was their integrity. We were originally supposed to visit in December 2025, but Sri Lanka was hit by a severe cyclone just two days before our arrival. Rather than pushing us to travel in poor conditions, Mr. Mindika showed true responsibility by allowing us to postpone our trip to March 2026. He genuinely wanted us to see the "best of Sri Lanka," and we are so glad we waited!

Our rescheduled trip (March 14th–22nd) has been absolutely fantastic. The itinerary was perfectly paced, and the accommodations were consistently comfortable. A huge plus: the food was delicious and—contrary to common travel warnings—none of us had any stomach issues the entire time!

A major highlight was our first safari in Yala National Park. Seeing so much wildlife up close was a once-in-a-lifetime experience that we will never forget.

Special mention must go to our driver, Mr. Nehal. He is incredibly skillful and safe on the roads, which gave us total peace of mind. Beyond his driving, he is so friendly and took wonderful care of us throughout the entire 8-day journey.
